Kirsteen Miller (now married!) has just returned from the 2006 Commonwealth Games in Melbourne. She has just announced her retirement from international badminton after a very long and successful career. We will hopefully see her in the clinic more!
David was the physiotherapist to the GB men's and ladies curling teams at the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin. |
|
The clinic was joined by Kirsty Pemberton-Piggot and Andy Devine from BUPA Murryfield, Edinburgh.
Rachel Crosbee is expecting her second baby in May 2006.
Physiofocus is always keen to support local and national events. Some of the events we have been involved in over the last few years have been:

Kirsten McEwan....won bronze in the badminton at the Manchester Commonwealth Games in 2002
|
|

Jim Anderson....won 4 Gold Medals at the Athens Paralympics in 2004 |

Commonwealth Games 2002.....Seonaid, Dave, Kirsteen and Bec worked at the Commonwealth Games. Seonaid and Fiona have continued to work closely with the GB Paralympic Swimming Team. Seonaid attended training camps in France and Australia in the run up to the Olympics in Sydney and Athens.
David is lead physio for the Scottish Institute of Sport Badminton Programme which has involved travelling to Europe several times each year.

Bec Marshall, who worked at the clinic until returning to Tasmania in 2004, was selected as the physio for the GB Ladies Curling Team at the Winter Olympics 2002. Well done Bec - the team returned triumphant with their Gold Medals!

Investors in People
Physio Focus achieved its Investors In People (IIP) Award in 2002. The IIP programme helps businesses examine how they are performing and how the staff are trained for their jobs. We found the scheme extremely beneficial and are now working towards our reassessment this year.
